Last month I took my flotsam weaving to London for the Not A Drop exhibition. It was a wonderful event with a broad range of artworks on display, all of which were inspired by water. I especially enjoyed a talk by Steve McPherson, an artist who is also working with flotsam, primarily plastics collected from the North Kent coast.
It was fabulous to see my work on the wall and observe the reaction of people on realising my colourful tapestries are comprised totally from marine debris. I hope through my flotsam weavings I can inform people about the proliferation of plastics and other detritus in our water.
